At Capelli Lounge Hair Salon, many of our clients ask about how hair donation works — and we’re thrilled to help make it easy, meaningful and fun. We support two amazing causes:
Locks of Love, which uses donated hair to create custom prosthetic hairpieces for children facing long‑term hair loss. Locks of Love - Since 1997+2Locks of Love - Since 1997+2
St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a powerhouse in childhood cancer research. People shave their heads to raise funds and awareness—and you can join them or support the cause. St. Baldrick's+1Here are the key guidelines to make your hair donation count for Locks of Love:
Your hair must be at least 10 inches long (measured tip‑to‑tip) to be used in a hairpiece. Locks of Love - Since 1997+1
Colored or permed hair is accepted unless it has been bleached. Locks of Love - Since 1997+1
The hair must be in a ponytail or braid before you cut it—hair swept off the floor or shaved loose cannot be used. Locks of Love - Since 1997+1
Hair must be clean, completely dry, and mailed in a plastic bag inside a padded envelope. Locks of Love - Since 1997+1
Once you donate, you may receive an acknowledgment — but it may take up to 90 days. Locks of Love - Since 1997
This is a beautiful way to transform your hair change into a gift for someone in need.
Laurie and Veronica have also participated in the past with stbaldricks https://www.stbaldricks.org/get-involved
We had fun helping out with the head shaving. The above link can help you get involved with this charity.
